While Bali’s wet season does bring some rain, it rarely disrupts an entire day. Most rain falls in the afternoon, leaving mornings open for exploring, while evenings are cool and comfortable. Add in the greener scenery, lighter crowds, and better value accommodation and flights, and it’s easy to see why many travellers love visiting Bali during this time!

The sound of rain is basically nature’s soundtrack for savasana. There are lots of yoga centres all over Bali, but our favourite experience is the personalised yoga classes at BI Design House.
Tickets are as cheap (around IDR 50,000!) but we recommend you treat yourself to fancy (but still extremely affordable) Premiere movie tickets for around IDR 100,000! Live the high life! Choose your movie carefully as Bali cinemas seem to show an unusually high number of horror movies.
Surprisingly complete for a theme park that’s inside a shopping mall, including river rapids, a Ferris wheel, and a full-size go-karting track! Go early on rainy days as it can get very busy.
Time for some retail therapy. There are lots of big malls, with a wide range of both international and local brands. Popular ones include Beach Walk (Kuta), Icon Mall (Sanur), and Living World (Denpasar).
Pick up ceramics, textiles, baskets, and wood carvings and much more! Ubud Art Market and Sukawati Art Market in Ubud are popular for good reason. In Canggu, Love Anchor and Shocked Dog have plenty of interesting products.
